About this deal

You’ll sometimes find them under the part numbers 81687142 and 81759573, respectively. Both will work with a Solo 93xxs, 94xxs or 95xxs. As a downside, when using the Series 9 Pro alongside a regular Series 9, the Pro seems to be grabbier and a bit harsher on the skin.

With the 92xx models, we basically have the same colors, only that now they appear explicitly in the model name. In that case, you could have confidently opted for one of the existing, previous generation Series 9 like the 9290cc, 9291cc, 9296cc, etc. as these are just as good as far as the quality of the shave is concerned. I did have a look at the “Braun Series 9 Model Comparison: What Are The Differences?” again and I could see that for some reason I have unfortunately overlooked the great comparison chart that you have made with all the comparison between the 93xx (and 92xx and 90xx models). After reading the chart I can see that the 9385cc is THE model I will go for. A bigger battery, with a 20% larger capacity compared to the previous generation. That should provide up to 60 minutes of cordless shaving time. Throughout the review, I tried to emphasize that except for the larger battery, the 9385cc/9390cc doesn’t really bring any significant improvements over the previous Series 9.As for the Series 9, I don’t think it’s worth spending the extra money considering your husband’s shaving routine and facial hair. But if you still decide on getting one, it doesn’t really matter which one is it as long as the model name starts with 92 or 93. They all shave the same and you really won’t miss any of the extra features. You didn’t mention anything about your budget, so I’ll try recommending a few options at various price points and based on their specific pros and cons you can decide which one would make the most sense. So you don’t necessarily need the station, but I find it quite useful just to clean the shaver thoroughly every once in a while. Somewhere in May 2023, a new Series 9 PRO+ showed up on ForMe, which is P&G‘s (Braun’s parent company) platform for offering new products to users for testing. If you already have a 92xx or 93xx Series 9 that’s still in good shape, it doesn’t really make sense to upgrade to a Pro since the performance gains are minor overall.

Besides, some internals of the 93xx are also found in the 94xx: the same battery capacity and the same 32-bit MCU. For men who shave less often, this is a key aspect that should be taken into account when deciding which shaver to buy. It basically selects between a short, normal, and intensive cleaning mode (indicated by one, two, or three droplet symbols on the station). There are no physical differences between the two stations, the latter just entered production later on.As for the PRO Series 9, various models are finally available globally and we’re already seeing some price drops. The shortage of replacement shaving heads used to be a serious issue as you could end up spending a premium price on a product and not being able to use it in the future. I have now used my new 9385 for around a week, and what a joy. Compared to my Series 7 shave, the 9385 beats it in nearly any aspects.
